Team Leader
An hourly position where you'll perform a lead role in overseeing and operating workstations. Strong leadership and supervisory skills are necessary. You must be at least 18 years old. Back To Top

Second Assistant
As a Second Assistant, you will participate in a restaurant management training program where you will receive classroom and restaurant training, and gain a deeper understanding of our Whataburger culture and how it enhances the daily work environment. Back To Top

First Assistant Manager
This is the first level, salaried management position, with full responsibility for the operation of a single-unit restaurant in the Restaurant Manager's absence. The primary responsibilities are to perform management and administrative duties with secondary responsibility for supervising workstation operations. Individuals provide significant contributions in the development and implementation of tactics for optimizing restaurant sales and profits as well as ensure compliance with all company standards, policies and procedures. Base pay ranges from $22,000 to $32,000 per year. Bonus is based on guest service and profit performance, and averages approximately $2,500 per year. Back To Top

Associate Manager
This is a salaried management position in a single-unit restaurant that reports to a General Manager. The duties performed are the same as those of a First Assistant Manager, but the responsibilities are greater. Base pay ranges from $26,000 to $38,000 per year. Bonus is based on guest service and profit performance, and averages approximately $6,000 per year. Back To Top

Restaurant Manager
This is the top management position of a single-unit restaurant with full responsibility for the efficient management and operation of the restaurant in compliance with Company standards, policies and procedures. Restaurant Managers develop and implement tactics for optimizing restaurant sales and profit and participate in image building activities within the local community. Base pay ranges from $31,000 to $40,000 per year. Bonus is based on guest service and profit performance, and averages approximately $9,000 per year. Back To Top

General Manager
This is the first multi-unit management position with responsibility for managing two or three restaurants. This position offers individuals the challenge of implementing tactics for optimizing restaurant sales and profits for multiple units, and delegating responsibilities to key management staff. Excellent leadership skills are required to develop a highly qualified and effective staff. This position requires intensive knowledge of Whataburger policies and procedures - candidates are almost exclusively recruited from within the company. Base pay ranges from $30,500 to $49,000 per year. Bonus is based on guest service and profit performance, and averages approximately $15,000 per year. Back To Top

Area Manager
This is a multi-unit management position with responsibility for 4-8 restaurants within a designated area. This position is responsible for communicating and supporting the organization's vision and challenging management to strive for continuous improvement in all facets of the business. Area Managers are accountable for developing self-reliant Restaurant Managers who achieve high levels of performance in all operational areas in compliance with Company standards, policies and procedures. Base pay ranges from $54,000 to $75,000 per year. Bonus is based on guest service and profit performance, and averages approximately $20,000 - $30,000 per year. Back To Top
